Comments:
The son of one of the Alhambra guitar founders, José María Vilaplana joined the guitar world
at the age of sixteen. His formative years were spent mastering each
of the processes involved in guitar construction which led to his
involvement in the Signature series. In 1973, after fifteen years of work he decided
to construct guitars under his own name.
The Concert India Model features a double set of Indian
rosewood sides, which increases the thickness. This added rigidity forces
the soundboard to vibrate harder, producing a more powerful, focused
sound. For a traditionally built guitar with a beautiful sound, this is
possibly also the loudest that we know of. The sound is bright and open
with a very quick response.
Materials are stunning including a beautiful high-grade quarter-sawn
German spruce top and an elegant book-matched Indian rosewood back.
Excellent value for a top-level concert guitar.
Vilaplana's guitars are already finding a ready place amongst professional
players due to their sonority and tremendous flexibility. VGV case
included.
