How to Search
As well as browsing around Guitarnotes to see what you can find, if you know what you're looking for you can search for it directly using the site's search engine.
Search Tips
If your search is not providing useful results, you may find the following tips helpful.
-
Check the search term is a minimum of 4 characters long.
-
Check for misspellings. Ensure you've typed in the word correctly.
-
Search by typing Surnames or short phrases.
-
Avoid using foreign characters and accents
-
Keep titles short selecting key words
-
Use the Browse navigation bars when looking for works in a specific category such as music for Flute and Guitar etc, rather than the search bar.
You can refine your search further by using the advanced search button at the top of the page:
This will enable you to search for products using one or more of the following parameters:
-
Product Title
-
Product Category
-
Publisher
-
Composer Nationality
-
Difficulty Level range
By leaving the Product Title box empty you will be able to find a range of products fulfilling various criteria. For example you may be looking for works for Two Guitars by Brazilian composers. Here's how: Leaving the Product Title Box blank, select "Two Guitars" from the Product Category and "Brazil" from the Composer Nationality box. Click "Search".
Your search results may be listed in one of four ways, depending on how you searched and how many results there are:
No Results: If your search doesn't return any results at all, you will be given some other options to help you find what you want
One Result: If there is only one item that fits your search, you may be taken directly to the relevant page
Results List: For many searches, your results will simply be listed 25 items to a page, and there are links at the top and bottom of the list to jump backwards and forwards through the pages.
If you still can't find what you're looking for, try browsing our catalogue, or let us help you. Just send an email using our Contacts form with as much detail about the title as possible. If we have it on our database, we will email you the information about it and how to find it at Guitarnotes.co.uk If not, we will let you know.
