Maestro Guitars
The Maestro Series guitars are produced exclusively for Guitarnotes by Alhambra Guitarras. Alhambra was founded in 1965 as a modest guitar workshop located in Muro de Alcoy. Their main goal from the outset was to combine the highest standards of craftmanship with the latest advancements in manufacturing technology to produce the finest quality instruments possible.
Alhambra gives special priority to its research department where all ideas and projects are developed. Their highly qualified artisans have been given a greater degree of autonomy which has enabled them to produce consistently high quality results in their Signature range of guitars which are widely considered second to none at their price level.
These qualities have trickled down to their entry level guitars, which are outstanding tonally and aesthetically.
Although modern technology plays a significant part of their production methods, all of their instruments are built in the traditional Spanish way.
The reward for these endeavours is the acknowledgement that Alhambra guitars enjoys a deservedly worldwide reputation for their exceptional quality.
Maestro Series
2006 saw the return of Alhambra guitars to Guitarnotes, after an absence of 23 years. To mark the re-establishment of this old relationship a very special range of classical guitars was created under the new Maestro Series label.
Within each batch of tonewood there is a range of quality which is graded both for its eveness of grain and its aesthetic appeal. Although superficially these instruments share the same appearance and specifications as the standard models, all Maestro Series instruments are constructed using only the very finest select grade materials appropriate to that particular model.
Further, upon completion, before being given the Maestro Series designation, each guitar is inspected, individually voiced to create an even, balanced tone throughout, and signed-off by a senior luthier.
All these models do take longer to build than Alhambra's standard range, but we believe the difference in quality is well worth it.
