Maestro Guitars
The Maestro Series guitars are produced exclusively for Guitarnotes by Alhambra Guitarras who were founded in 1965 from an original small guitar workshop located in Muro de Alcoy. From the outset, it has been their primary policy to combine the highest standards of craftmanship with the latest advancements in manufacturing technology to produce the finest quality instruments possible.
Today, Alhambra gives special priority to its research department where all ideas and projects are developed. By allowing their highly qualified artisans a greater degree of autonomy they have enabled them to produce the top models for their range which are widely considered second to none. These qualities have trickled down to their entry level guitars, which are outstanding tonally and aesthetically for their price.
Although modern technology is a significant part of their production methods, all of their instruments are built in the traditional Spanish way.
The reward for these endeavours is the acknowledgement that Alhambra guitars enjoys a deservedly worldwide reputation for their exceptional quality.
Maestro Series
2006 saw the return of Alhambra guitars to Guitarnotes, after an absence of 23 years. To mark the re-establishment of this old relationship a very special range of classical guitars was created under the new Maestro Series label.
Although superficially these instruments share the same appearance and specifications as the standard models, all Maestro Series instruments are constructed using only the very finest grade select materials appropriate to that particular model with the very highest levels of workmanship. Upon completion, each guitar is inspected, individually voiced, and approved by a senior luthier, before being given the Maestro Series designation. These models do take longer to build than Alhambra's regular series, but we believe the difference in quality is well worth it.
